IWC Schaffhausen and Scholz & Friends embark on “The Longest Flight”
In August 2019, the two pilots Steve Boultbee-Brooks and Matt Jones will start their record-breaking flight around the world in a restored 1943 Spitfire. The luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen will accompany “The Longest Flight” as partner and simultaneously release its new watch collection dedicated to the pilots and the Spitfire aircraft.
In an epic launch film with bold and striking images, Scholz & Friends shows the construction and maiden flight of the aircraft at the Boultbee flight school in the south of England, juxtaposed with images of the prototype construction for the new Spitfire watch collection at Schaffhausen.
“We tell the story of man and machine and how their perfectly dovetailed interaction makes great things happen,” comments Managing Director of Scholz & Friends Berlin Robert Krause.
“We paid special attention to the cinematic aspect of the film. The flight scenes were created entirely in camera without the use of CGI,” adds Jörg Waschescio, Creative Director at Scholz & Friends.
The film celebrated its premiere last week at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva.
